BERG – Offf Vienna Main Titles 2024

In BERG, two friends embark on an adventure in the Austrian Alps as they attempt to design the main titles for a prestigious design festival. Time slips away and they struggle to combine sound, light, and design, leading to a series of surreal and unexpected revelations.

BERG is an allegory of the creative process you might have already experienced.

It usually has the same components:

The starting point of the project when everything – especially the mood, motivation and enthusiasm – goes up, literally in this movie: up the hill into the mountains.

The mountains of work, a role in our film, played by the beautiful Austrian Alps in Salzburg and Tyrol.

The wise soul you can always turn to whenever you need advice or emotional support, which is played by Rosa, the lovely dog.

The (sometimes really weird) problems that occur when you really need everything to work.

You might know the thing that comes at night, when you least expect it, a little confused, dropping in sweat, wondering what the fuck is going on, what you are doing and why you even started in the first place: The question, played by Ulrich Schleicher. It comes unexpectedly and sometimes stays with you a little. Often it helps you to find your direction.

Also the answer, played by Daniela Paradeis, comes quite surprisingly, but it is clear, knows what to do, has a plan and is saving your ass with the most obvious things that you just can’t see anymore.

The friendly German host of our story is Alex, played by Alexander Litschka, the confused workaholic that is so consumed by his work that he can’t see clearly anymore and literally drowns in his own work.

Not to forget: the artist himself, played by OFFF Vienna 2024 main titles speaker Eyup Kuş. Thinks he knows it all, sometimes even does, holds onto books and research for safety and assurance and likes to try out things until the deadline is near and then goes through all different kind of emotions; and makes jokes when shit is hitting the fan.

The question we leave you with is:
Are really all the people you can see in this film actually present in the real world or is it just an imagination of a guy renting a house in the mountains to finish his work accompanied by his dog?
